Mechanical components for aeronautics
Aircraft mechanical systems
Aircraft mechanical systems in engines, air conditioning, fluid controls and actuation require Mersen's carbon and graphite components.
Mersen is supplying mechanical solutions to the major players of the aeronautic industry.
Our engineering and workshops are certified according to the EN9100 standard. They have developped dedicated mechanical solutions for the guiding and sealing of aeronautic systems with an hydraulic or electro-mechanic actuation.
Carbonaceous materials, more particularly graphite, are answering to key requirements of this industry.
Aeronautic industry: key requirements
Low weight
- The density of carbon or graphite components ranges between 1.5 and 2.5 g/cc, much lower than metals.
Reduced friction, no lubrication
- Graphite is a self-lubricating material
Extended life time
- Our materials are perfectly suitable to resist strong temperature and erosion conditions inside aircrafts’ reactors.
