Mersen has developed a type of Carbon/Carbon composite under the AEROLOR® brand name, with a 3D carbon fibre orientation.

This structure significantly reinforces its mechanical resistance to shear forces and constitutes a high performance material for all high-energy braking and friction applications. In addition to its mechanical strength, the composite's light weight is particularly suited to aeronautical applications. Mersen equips braking systems on the Airbus line and is currently developing numerous other applications for friction systems, including brakes and clutches for motorsport and industry.
